After being absent for the first two days of Cavs practice, Delonte West was present on Thursday for the team’s workout.
West, who was the Cavaliers starting shooting guard last season, was not at Cleveland Clinic Courts on Tuesday or Wednesday, even though he was at Media Day on Monday.
Coach Mike Brown talked to the media after practice, but only touched on the situation with West briefly.
”It was great to have him back on the floor,” said Brown.
Brown has a tough decision ahead of him of whether to start the troubled West or newly-acquired Anthony Parker at shooting guard this season. Parker, who is two inches taller than West, is more of a prototypical two guard and is a more consistent shooter from the outside.
As talented as he is, West seems to have more on his plate than just the NBA, especially after he was arrested last month for carrying concealed weapons in Maryland.
He has commented before on his battles with mood disorders, which could be the reason for his two-day absence.
Shaquille O’Neal, the Cavs biggest offseason addition, said he has spoken to West since the sixth-year pros return to the team, but wouldn’t comment on what they talked about.
